New to Cologne and looking to connect with the Jewish community?
Join us for “New in Town” – a special afternoon to discover Jewish life in Cologne, meet new people and explore the city from a Jewish perspective.
November 1st is a public holiday in Cologne, so most places will be closed anyway — why not spend the day with us and discover the city?
We’ll start at the synagogue, where we’ll get to know each other and introduce you to Jewish and Israeli safe spaces, events, community activities and initiatives in Cologne. If you’re interested, you can also join an optional 15-minute tour of the synagogue.
Then we’ll head out into the city!
Together, we’ll explore Cologne on a guided walking tour and discover Jewish Cologne as a whole – from its past to the vibrant Jewish life you can experience today.
But this isn’t your typical history tour. We want to show you the Cologne you can actually live in: Where do people meet their friends? What’s happening in the Jewish community? Which places should you know? Where can you find the best hummus? And, of course, where do you get the best Kölsch?
There’ll be plenty of time to ask questions, share recommendations, discover new places and, most importantly, meet other Jewish people who are new to Cologne.
Our goal is simple: to help you find your way around the city and the Jewish community, discover safe spaces and opportunities, and make new connections.
One more thing…
We’ll meet at:
1 November 2026
⏰ 11:11 AM
Roonstraße 50, Cologne
And yes – there’s a reason for the rather unusual time.
You’ll find out when you get there.
Good to know
Places are limited. As the event is publicly advertised, we will carry out a security screening of all registrations before confirming participation.
When allocating the limited places, we will give preference to people aged 18–30 and those who have moved to Cologne within the past 18 months.
Your registration does not automatically guarantee a place. We’ll contact you after the screening to let you know whether your participation can be confirmed.
Come as you are. Meet your community. Discover your Cologne.
